I fell in love with images the minute I picked up a camera in high school. I became hooked and excited by the new worlds that photography opened up to me and the doors it allowed me to walk through. I started shooting editorially in college and immediately following graduation I went to work as a photographer for Rice University. A few years later, I went out on my own as a freelancer, picking up editorial clients like Time, Newsweek, and Texas Monthly.
I sold my first stock photo to Exxon and moved into the corporate/industrial arena, discovering yet more exciting vistas. I’ve been asked why I like editorial and corporate work so much to which I respond: For me it’s like going on the world’s greatest field trip, I get to see what makes business tick; photography in advertising is a collaborative creative process that I find very stimulating".
In my travels I’ve learned to appreciate the language of photography and its ability to communicate, even when words can’t. From time to time I am still left speechless by the beauty and wonder that is still out there to see. |
